This project is darn easy and swift so much so that it will hardly take one evening to make.
Build your own exterior window shutters.
Determine this height and multiply by 3 then add 2 x 10 1 2 21.
Then flip over the wood shutters and screw them together.
Cut one or two of the 1x4 planks into 4 equal pieces to match that width.
For shutter length i don t know that there is a definite rule for what they should be but i d recommend adding a few inches to the height of your actual window and making your shutters this tall.
Step 3 construct the shutter on a flat surface.
Use clamps to hold everything together when you have the pieces in place.
That gives you how many feet of 1 4 you need per shutter.
These will serve to bind the vertical planks together and to connect the shutter itself to the outside of your home.
Lay the cut 1x6 planks on a flat surface and align them so that they are exactly level.
Along with some supplies including plywood you will need jigsaw screws nuts hammer staple gun and paint for nailing it.
